Back up your data and keep it private

Everything is stored on your device. Before switching phones or deleting the app, export a backup to the Files app.

Where your data lives

Sheet images, names, dates, notes, boxes, and reminders are stored inside the app’s sandbox on your device. The app does not enable cloud sync and does not upload content to a server. Paper edge detection and perspective correction also run on-device.

Export a backup

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Data.
  3. Tap Export All Data.
  4. Save the file anywhere in the Files app.

The backup contains your boxes, sheets, images, and reminders. The app does not upload it or send it anywhere.

Import on a new device

  1. Install BoxIt on the new device.
  2. Open Settings → Data.
  3. Tap Import from Backup and choose the file.

Delete your data

Whether iOS system backups include BoxIt’s data depends on your backup settings. We do not control or access those backups.

Permissions

BoxIt may ask for:

You can turn each permission off in iOS Settings. Features that need the permission stop working; saved data is not affected.

App Lock

App Lock is temporarily unavailable in this version. There is no entry in Settings and no unlock is triggered. It is an access barrier, not encryption; sheet files remain protected by iOS file protection and app sandboxing. If it returns, this page and the privacy policy will be updated.

Privacy

BoxIt contains no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no account system. Read the full privacy policy.
